Open Science Advisory Committee
In accordance with the Terms of Reference adopted by the General Conference,
the 30-members Open Science Advisory Committee was established by the Director-
General of UNESCO in June 2020 to guide the consultative process leading to the
Recommendation by:
• providing expert and strategic advice;
• ensuring delivery of the process milestones;
• providing support with fundraising.
Chair: Dr Fernada Beigel, Researcher at CONICET and Professor at the Faculty of Political
and Social Sciences, National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
Vice-Chair: Dr Simon Hodson, Executive Director of the Committee on Data of the
International Science Council
Rapporteurs:
• Dr Samia Charfi Kaddour, Director-General, Scientific Research, Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research, Tunisia
• Dr Vivian E. Boamah, Senior Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of
Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.
